Holidays 

It’s lovely to see the sun at last and thoughts are turning to holidays.  

However, schools are not permitted to grant requests for time off for holidays.  If your child is absent for a holiday, it will be treated as an unauthorised absence, and we have to inform Education Support Service which could result in a possible fine or even prosecution. 

In respect of all leave of absence requests, please be reminded that under section 444 of the Education Act, each person with responsibility for the child(ren) who fails to ensure their regular attendance at Netherton CofE Primary School, can be fined for taking child(ren) out of school during term time.  This is £60 if paid within 21 days or £120 within 28 days. Please be aware that fines apply per parent / per child.
