Coronavirus Update

16 March 2020 (by admin)

To date, we are following the guidelines given to us, from our Academy DoWMAT, Public Health and our Government. Updates are changing daily and we endeavour to put the safeguarding of our children and staff first.

Our usual high standards of hygiene and cleanliness have been accompanied by extra measures to ensure our school is clean and hygienic.

We have been working with your children regarding washing their hands. Teachers have been showing them how to wash their hands properly, ensuring all children are washing their hands on a regular basis.

From today we have restricted all visitors coming into the school, and any courses or activities that have been booked until the Easter holidays have now been cancelled. This will include swimming for Y4, Little Owl Farm Reception and Music lessons for Year 5 and 6. Currently we are keeping the afterschool clubs and Yr. 6 revision club running.

Our staff have been working hard to produce home learning packs for every child in the school and these will be sent out with your children on Tuesday 17th March 2020. If your child is not in school, please advise us if we can give this pack to anyone else to pass onto you.

To help reduce the number of gathered people at home time. From today children can be collected between 2.45pm and 3.15pm as follows:

  • Nursey and Reception – as normal (morning Nursery to be collected at normal time)
  • Classes 1N, 1W, 2D and 2W from the external classroom doors near foundation
  • KS2 normal doors

Staff will be on hand at the door to collect your child from their classroom. If you have more than one child collect your youngest first. (Signs will be in the playground to help you.)

For the afterschool clubs, can we ask that you wait on the main school carpark and children will be brought out to you.

If parents and carers have any questions, could we ask that you call the school and refrain from coming into the school office.

Again thank you for all your support at this worrying time but please be reassured that the safeguarding and wellbeing of your children is paramount to us.

Thank you.

Mrs L Foxall

Acting Head Teacher
